Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Add an extra layer of security to your account.

What is 2FA?

Two-factor authentication requires both your password AND a code from your phone to sign in. This means even if someone knows your password, they can't access your account.

Enabling 2FA

  1. Go to Settings > Security
  2. Find Two-Factor Authentication
  3. Click Enable
  4. Choose your preferred method:
    • Authenticator app (recommended)
    • SMS codes
  5. Follow the setup instructions
  6. Save your backup codes

Using an Authenticator App

Recommended apps:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy

Setup process:

  1. Download the app on your phone
  2. Scan the QR code shown in settings
  3. Enter the code from the app to verify
  4. Save your backup codes securely

Backup Codes

When you enable 2FA, you'll receive backup codes. These can be used if you lose access to your phone.

Important:

  • Store backup codes securely
  • Each code can only be used once
  • Generate new codes if you run out
  • Never share your backup codes

Disabling 2FA

If you need to turn off 2FA:

  1. Go to Settings > Security

  3. Enter your password to confirm
